Important Information for International Customers:
Potential Import Duties

Due to ongoing developments to international trade regulations, international customers may be required to pay import duties and/or VAT/GST when importing from the UK. This mainly affects customers in the EU, who may have to pay VAT for their order to clear customs. These charges are imposed by your local customs authority and are not included in the price of your order at checkout.

Due to recent changes in international trade regulations, customers in the EU may be required to pay import duties and VAT when ordering from outside the European Union. These charges are imposed by your local customs authority and are not included in the price of your order at checkout.

Will I Have to Pay Import Duty on My Order?

Whether you’ll have to pay import duty depends on several factors, including:

  • The value of your order

  • The specific country you’re ordering from

  • The type of goods being shipped

Typically, orders above a certain value threshold will be subject to import duty, VAT, or other handling fees as per your country’s customs regulations.

How Can I Find Out How Much I Need to Pay?

To find out if your order will be subject to additional charges, and to estimate how much these charges might be, we recommend checking with your local customs office. You can also use online resources to calculate potential duties. Below are some helpful links:

Typically EU customers will have to pay their standard VAT rate (e.g. Germany 20%, France 20% etc.) However, this can vary depending on the type of good being imported (e.g. print vs painting).

What Happens If Import Duties Apply to My Order?

If your order is subject to import duties, you will be contacted by your local customs office once your goods arrive in your country. They will provide details on the additional charges and how to make payment. Please note that any delays due to customs processing are beyond our control.

Update Sept 2024: USA Orders

Following changes to the ‘de minimis’ tariff regulations for imports to the USA, all imports under US$800 from the UK are now subject to 10% duties. We are working with our international couriers to ensure that all duties are paid for by Amelia Jayne Art, and so should not be imposed upon our customers. This increased cost for us has been reflected by an increase in shipping costs to USA. Please note however that this situation is fast-moving, and has presented many logistical challenges along our supply chains. As such, there may be instances where duties are imposed on the customer, despite our best efforts to prevent this. If you are affected, please get in touch at support@ameliajayneart.com so we can arrange a refund for the duty paid. We appreciate your patience with this matter.
